WHAT STEPS ARE INVOLVED IN SAFELY REMOVING ASBESTOS? Asbestos removal can be broken down into 3 stages.
Stage 1: Creating a HEPA negative air environment: EnviDIY DIY Asbestos Removal Kits (Mid-Level Home Protection Upgrade and Premium Home Protection Upgrade) Before removing asbestos (or any hazardous material), it is the utmost importance to keep the materials contained to prevent it from spreading throughout the rest of your home. Once a proper enclosure is established, keeping yourself and others around you safe, it is critical to use HEPA certified equipment to avoid breathing the asbestos fibers during removal.
Stage 2: Removal of asbestos containing materials: now that you have a complete negative air environment, its important that you keep yourself safe with a respirator and coveralls to prevent inhaling the fibers as they are being removed and disturbed.
Stage 3: Breakdown and Disposal: Once the asbestos has been safely removed, proper disposal (depending on the type of asbestos containing material) is very important.
